Being a lover of ranch dressings, I decided to give a try to making a Probiotic Rich Vegan Ranch Dressing. The result? A tangy, zingy, and creamy dressing that is so SO delicious! This ranch dressing pairs well with just about everything! If you are a veggie lover, enjoy making wraps or salads, I’d highly recommend giving this dressing a try!
We have a local store nearby in Costa Mesa, CA called Fermentation Farm. They sell a coconut based fermented ranch, that is absolutely incredible. I just couldn’t help but get inspired by it and to try and make my own. First, because it is so delicious freshly made, second it is more affordable to make it myself and finally because I wanted to use my own starter from Body Ecology to know what kind of probiotics I am getting.
So What is Body Ecology?

Body Ecology is a lifestyle to heal your body of any gut issues, hormone balancing, and so many other things. I followed the plan about a year ago and had amazing results! I decided to start including these principles back into my life. Which also means starting to create more fun & healing recipes, including this one!
By incorporating more Body Ecology principals, I get more probiotics in my life. What probiotics are good for is to make sure you are getting enough healthy gut flora in the belly. I could talk about the benefits of probiotics all day, but let’s talk more about this amazing Probiotic Rich Vegan Ranch Dressing!
Finally, a Diary Free Gut Healthy Ranch!
This recipe can get you out of any cooking funk you may be in. This ranch is perfect for any season but I especially love it with a summer salad and a bison ribeye. Ranch dressing has ALWAYS been my favorite dressing to go to, but since going dairy-free years ago, it’s been the most missed salad dressing or dipping sauce. Salads just weren’t the same without it, and while other veggie dips may be delicious, having a ranch option is even better.
I decided to ferment this ranch dressing to enhance the natural flavors and bring out a more zingy umami taste. Although you don’t HAVE to ferment this in order for it to be good, I enjoy making it fermented for the extra probiotic benefits and enhanced flavors. Similar to the sour cream I recently made, I’m extremely happy with the result! It’s nice to have a variety of dairy free options available.

- 1 can of coconut milk
- 1 scoop of Body Ecology EcoBloom*
- 1/2 Body Ecology Veggie Culture Starter Packet*
- 1 bunch of dill
- 1 bunch of parsley
- 1 bunch of chives
- 1 juice of a lemon
- 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar
- pinch of sea salt
- You only have to add this if you are fermenting, even then it will work without the EcoBloom, but it adds a prebiotic to the dressing.
You can also use any well-sourced chicory root powder that you prefer if you don’t have Body Ecology EcoBloom on hand.
- You don’t HAVE to add the Body Ecology Veggie Culture Starter Packet but if you want the added probiotics or on The Body Ecology Diet,
I highly recommend it as coconut milk on its own is very sweet. If you aren’t on Body Ecology, I still personally love any excuse to ferment to get the added flavor and probiotics.
- The day before you want to make this, pour the coconut milk into a mason jar, add in the Body Ecology EcoBloom & Vegetable Starter Packet.
- Place in a warm place overnight 12-24 hours should do the trick. I recommend any temperature between 75-85 degrees.
- You will know when it is done, it will taste similar to sour cream.
- Place all ingredients and the fermented coconut milk into a blender.
- Blend until smooth.
- Place in a mason jar to store in the fridge to cool if desired.
