Benefits of Womb Massage Oil

Regularly massaging the abdomen with this womb massage oil can provide several benefits, including:

  • Promoting healthy blood flow to the reproductive organs
  • Reducing inflammation and promoting healing
  • Supporting hormonal balance
  • Relieving menstrual cramps and bloating
  • Enhancing fertility and preparing the body for conception

Main Ingredients

The ingredients listed here are intended for use during a womb massage or fertility massage. Each one has specific benefits, and a few have roots of benefits for this purpose in Chinese Medicine practices. I referenced The Chinese Way of Herbs by Michael Tierra, L.Ac., O.M.D, and Chinese Natural Cures by Henry C. Lu.

Each fertility herb has a purpose, however, if there is something that doesn’t align with you for any reason, feel free to omit it.

Mugwort for blood circulation. Note mugwort can be a stinky herb so using more fragrant herbs such as rose and essential oils will help to balance out the fragrant notes. Mugwort is a warming herb that in Chinese medicine is known for warming the meridians and the uterus. It can help with abdominal pain and cramping, and should only be used pre-pregnancy.

Orange Peel helps to move stagnation and nourishes the womb – draining the dampness. It is an energy regulator and treats abdominal pain and swelling.

Rosehips add a nourishing and feminine fragrant property, with absorbable vitamin C. Rosehip is also known for binding for the life force essences.

Rose petals smell amazing, soothe the skin, and are heart-opening. They stimulate the circulatory system, are anti-inflammatory, and can treat irregular periods and depression. Only for use before pregnancy.

Essential oils are optional and flexible to what you prefer and have on hand. I suggest these if they are easily accessible:

How to Make Womb Massage Oil with Fertility Herbs

The combination of sweet almond oil, avocado oil, and olive oil creates a luxurious and absorbable base for the recipe. Or keep it simple and use a massage oil base that is already made for you. The addition of mugwort and red rose petals adds a fragrant and feminine touch that is perfect for a lovely fertility massage.

Womb Massage Oil Ingredients:

*Note: All essential oils are optional, feel free to use what you have on hand and what is accessible to you.

Instructions:

First, add the dried mugwort, orange peel, rose hips, and rose petals in a glass mason jar. Feel free to grind down your herbs first in a blender, coffee grinder, or mortal and pestle of choice.

Pour the sweet almond oil, avocado oil, and olive oil over the herbs, and combine.

Cover the jar with parchment paper and a lid over it. Place the jar in a cool dark place that is out of direct sunlight.

Let the oil infuse for 2-4 weeks depending on your time preference.

Once infused to your liking, strain out the herbs by pouring the oil through a cheesecloth or fine-mesh strainer into a clean glass jar.

Lastly, stir in the essential oils.

Store womb massage oil in a cool, dark place for up to 6 months. I prefer to store it in a dropper bottle for easy application.

How to Use Womb Massage Oil for Fertility

This womb massage oil recipe is best if used pre-pregnancy. If you are actively trying to conceive, use this oil after menstruation up until ovulation begins. Avoid womb massage or fertility massage if there is any possibility of pregnancy.

It is always best to err on the side of caution and start gently and slowly without applying too much pressure. In the right window of your cycle, and womb massage with this oil is safe to use daily. Personally, I like to make it part of a ritual, as part of my process to calm my mind, relax, and ground into the present moment.
