Chamomile Flower Berry Moon Milk

This chamomile flower berry moon milk is one of the most magical moon milks you will ever make. Honestly, it’s amazing! My favorite benefit of all moon milks is their calm, warming, and nourishing effect they have on the soul. I incorporate them into so many of my rituals (more on this later) to just bring me back to heart center and ground me. The slightly sweet taste is so enjoyable, the texture is silky smooth, and the calming herbal benefits of chamomile guide you right into a good night’s sleep.

Creating a Chamomile Flower Berry Moon Milk

So what inspired me to create this moon milk? Well, the past full moon in Leo combined with the Solar Eclipse was a wild one. Especially in all emotional aspects. I needed something to ground my energy, so I thought I’d develop a moon milk. I always find that a night time, moon milk ritual will help bring me into balance. The bright colors and flowers lift me up emotionally and relax me physically.

To make this moon milk there are a few options you can do to make it fit your lifestyle. First is the sweetener. I follow a sugar-free lifestyle so I sweetened it with stevia. If you are following a keto or paleo lifestyle this works as well. Monk fruit is another good option if you are following those lifestyles. For those of you who are paleo, maple syrup works great as well, but due to the sugar it may not have as much of a calming effect as you may want.

Next up, we have the base of the milk. I recommend using your favorite plant based milk. I usually use an almond milk or a blend of almond and coconut milk made in my Almond Cow (if you are interested in an almond cow, use code “STEPHANIE” for $15 off). Those two are my favorites, but you can be creative with your plant based milks as well. Whatever you are interested in makes a good base for the moon milk. Keeping the milk plant based will make this recipe vegan friendly.

To bring a little color to the milk, I added a super food berry powder. It gives the milk a slightly berry taste that helps to calm while adding some bright colors and nutritional benefits.

Chamomile, The Star of the Show

All of the ingredients so far are amazing. However, the star of the show is the chamomile. Whenever I drink moon milks I tend to be in a space where I want to relax, ground, maybe wind down from the day. Definitely not be energized. This moon milk is 100% caffeine free and sugar free so you won’t get any undesired side-effects physically.

Now with the chamomile, it does the opposite of energize, it relaxes. Chamomile is an herb that has natural relaxing properties that can help me fall asleep with ease. Along with relaxation chamomile also helps to lower blood sugar and inflammation. These properties really make this moon milk so magical and nourishing!

I swear whenever I drink Chamomile it puts my mind and body at ease and I am so ready to relax and snuggle into bed with a good book. What more could you ask for during a hectic time of their life?

Combined together the flowers will help to nourish you, ground you and bring you back to center. The berries will provide you with all the antioxidants to protect and recharge you. And the stevia with plant based milk combine together to make an absolutely amazing nourishing drink.

Have a Moon Milk Ritual

I always incorporate my moon milks into a wind down ritual. If you really want to you, you could make a whole ritual out of just the moon milk. When developing an evening or wind down ritual, make sure it’s something that speaks to you, grounds you, and prepares you for bed.

My personal ritual is to pull a couple of tarot cards, burn a candle, light some palo santo or sage, and journal. In the background I will play some soothing tunes and sip on my moon milk. I find that it’s especially helpful on a full moon, new moon, or when I just need to call back my own energy. Creating this space helps for me to process the events of the day and get a good night’s rest.

Ingredients

Instructions

    1. Place Milk, berry powder, and sweetener into a blender or use a cup and a milk frother to blend.
    2. Pour into your cup of choice.
    3. Sprinkle on chamomile flowers and cornflowers.
    4. Let steep for 5-10 minutes.
    5. Strain flowers out if you wish.
    6. Enjoy!
